Crowns are a way to permanently restore a heavily broken down tooth. They are essentially a cap like covering that fits over the remaining tooth surface to return it to full function and appearance. A veneer is similar to a crown but only covers the front facing of the natural tooth. These are more often used for cosmetic improvements as less of the natural tooth is affected.
